Experiment #1: Magic Realism

Words Given: Youth Soccer Tournament and Drunk Leprechaun
Drew was dribbling the soccer ball down the field on browning grass as the sun beat down on her sweating skin.  This is the final game of the Las Vegas tournament; one that if the team wins they will get to attend a national tournament.  Everything had been going well for Drew.  She was a starter on her team, on top of being the lead goal scorer.  She was nearing the goal in the current game, dribbling furiously, but then she begins hearing parents yelling in anger and confusion.  She decides to block the outside noises out and focus on the goal ahead of her, a decision she later regretted.  As she was just outside the eighteen- yard box she was knocked over, a hit that came at her left side with great force.  Normally a push like this would not have fazed her, but it came out of the complete and utter blue making her fall over in shock.  She looks up to see which girl pushed her down, but it was no girl.  It was an extraordinarily small man, with pasty skin covered with a rainbow tie-dye shirt, bright orange hair that curled in every direction possible, and had a giant bottle of some clear alcohol duct taped to his chubby hands.  Drew is not very familiar with names of alcohol, but the bottle appeared to say Vodka.  She was staring at him in shock as he began to pick up the soccer ball in his free hand and stumble away with it.  Behind her she hears a faint yell from her friend Thalia saying to "Get him!"  When she sees a couple of girls with anger on their faces stampede past her, Drew leaps to her feet and sprints in front to take the lead of the angry mob.  Drew is the first to tackle the leprechaun- like man to the ground.  She hears parents in the distance yelling at the coaches and referees to do something.  The referees and the coaches run to the pile of girls and peel them off of the drunk ginger.  The referee calls security and manages to get him taken away without him escaping.  Everyone still in shock from what had happened, confusedly walk back to their places on the field.  Drew inquires the referee as to what happens next, and he tells her that the ball will start at the outside of the eighteen- yard box with a free kick for Drew's team.
